Andrew M. Doody

Andrew M. Doody, 35, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Lutheran Hospital. Andrew was born on June 10, 1988 in Ann Arbor, MI to Gordon Doody and Cindy Andrews. On December 11, 2016, Andrew married Jessica Beer.

Andrew was also known as “Doody” or “Buddha Buddy” to friends and family. He was a loving husband, cat dad, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He worked as a Warehouse Associate at Central Supply. He was also working on completing his bachelor’s degree in computer information systems and cybersecurity at Champlain College. He was funny, stubborn, and never knew a stranger. He wore his heart on his sleeve that touched all that knew him. He loved golf, Legos, video games and bowling. His generosity shines through in his decision to be an organ donor.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica Beer of Fort Wayne, IN; fur babies, Whinks, Willow and Whisper; mother and stepfather, Cindy (John Yeomans) Andrews of Traverse City, MI; his sister, Courtney (Chuck) Schamel of Edmond, OK; nieces and nephews, Ady, Declan, Anneliese, Rhyin, Brantley, Deacon, Emersyn, Charlie and Asher; Jessica’s family, Gary and Arlene Workinger, Roger Beer, Tony and Cheryl Beer, Josie (Austin) Smith and Jayla (Dylan) Baker; in addition to several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Andrew is preceded in death by his father, Gordon Doody; paternal grandparents, Jay and Catherine Doody; maternal grandparents, Robert and Marilyn Andrews; Jessica’s grandmother, Maryann Beer.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home. Jessica asks that casual attire be worn for visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 8, 2024 at Zingerman’s Greyline in Ann Arbor, MI. More details to follow at a later date.
