Anita A. Girod, 72, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Adams Woodcrest. She was born in Decatur, IN, on June 24, 1950, the daughter of the late Ernest A. and Mary L. (Straub) Girod.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and was a graduate of Adams Central High School.
Anita had been employed by Lincoln Life for 28 years and then went on to work for the Department of Agriculture for 15 years.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 43 Ladies Auxiliary and was an officer in the Legion Riders. She was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1311 and the V.F.W. Post 6236. She was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed quilting.
Anita is survived by her brother, Allen A. Girod of Decatur and was preceded in death by a sister, Jane I. Light.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with visitation 2 hours prior from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall (park and enter through the 4th St. side of the hall).
Father David Ruppert will be presiding and burial will immediately follow in Tricker Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
