Anita L. (Salway) Sell

Anita L. Sell, 61, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at her residence on October 1, 2022 surrounded by her family. Anita was born in Decatur on November 30, 1960, to the late Waldo L. “Walt” and Betty J. (Brunner) Salway. On July 25, 1987, Anita married Steven R. Sell.

Anita attended the New Beginnings Community Church in Fort Wayne. She was a 1979 Bellmont High School graduate. She worked as a childcare provider for First Presbyterian Church for 10 years and Kid’s First Child Care Ministry for 8 years.  

Anita taught VBS, loved to watch game shows and soap operas; she also loved to do scratch off lottery tickets and take trips to the casino.

Anita loved and supported her family, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Anita is survived by her husband of 35 years, Steven R. Sell of Decatur; 3 sons, Josh (Keri) Salway of Roanoke, Zach (Terra) Sell of Ft. Wayne, Brandon Sell of Decatur; 3 sisters, Barbara (Dave) Perks of Berne, IN, Cheryl (Rick) McCullough of Auburn, IN, Dianna (Jerry) Brooks of Warren, IN; a brother, Greg (Lisa) Salway of Fort Wayne, IN; 5 grandchildren; Sophia, Everett, Karigan, Easton, Elliott and Emmitt (on the way).

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2022 also at the funeral home with calling 1 hour prior to service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Howe officiating. Burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to Adams County Cancer Coalition.
