Bonnie (Scheimann) Bohlander, 93, passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2023. She was born on April 7, 1930, to George and Esther (Heidenreich) Scheimann, in Fort Wayne, IN.
She graduated from Central Catholic High School, Class of “48”. In 1951, she married Roy Bohlander, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Fort Wayne. They were married for 69 years when Roy passed.
Bonnie worked for the Adams County Health Department where she retired in 1992, after 18 years of service.
Bonnie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a member of Harvest House and Women of St. Mary’s. She was also a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound for many years.
Bonnie also belonged to the Girls Club: Mary, Mary Ellan, Alice, Phylis and Joan, high school friends that got together for over 65 years. Bonnie was the last. She also enjoyed the time she spent with her dear friends, Bonnie Rumschlag and Dorothy Gage.
Bonnie always placed her family first. She was a loving, caring, giving mom and grandmother. She was a best friend to her four children. Although advanced in age, she was young in spirit and still full of surprises.
