Cristobal F. Jordan, 72, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, on November 16, 1950, the son of the late Desiderio and Natividad (Santiago) Jordan. Cristobal was united in marriage on December 26, 1970, to Elisa M. Torres.
He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a member of the local Knights of Columbus and the Emaús Group. He served in the United States Air Force as an Airman 1st Class and was stationed in West Germany. He worked for Phelps Dodge/Rae Magnet, as a mill operator for over 40 years, retiring in November 2012.
He and his wife enjoyed their 16 summers at Upper Long Lake at Shady Haven Resort with their family and friends.
Cristobal is survived is by his wife of 52 years, Elisa Jordan of Ft. Wayne; his children, Leonardo “Lenny” (Beth Castille) Rivera, Alice “Punkin” (Brian) Jordan-Miles, Nelson (Jennifer) Jordan, Juan (Ashley) Calderon, Cristy (Joseph Meade) Jordan, Jesus “Chucho” (Myrian) Morales, all of Fort Wayne, Larry (Rachel) Perez of TN, Buck (Marrisa) Jordan and Gabriel (Mandy) Jordan, both of Defiance, Ohio, and Steve (Bunny) Wilson of North Carolina; 3 siblings, Alejandrina Cordero of Fort Wayne, Petra Calderon, Daniel (Josefina) Jordan, both of Puerto Rico; 28 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, William “Bill” Rivera and 5 brothers.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2023, at FairHaven Funeral Home, 6557 N. Clinton St., Fort Wayne, IN. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2213 Brooklyn Ave., Fort Wayne, IN. Visitation will be from 6:45 – 7:15 p.m. and Father Kevin Bauman will be presiding. Burial and military honors will take place in Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
