David L. Rash, 84, of Indianapolis, IN, a former longtime resident of Decatur, IN, passed away Friday evening, January 3, 2025, at Brickyard Healthcare in Indianapolis, IN. David was born in Decatur, IN, on February 23, 1940, the son of Treva Onetta (Rash) Mihm. On September 9, 1978, David married Julia E. Rash, after 34 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on November 30, 2012.
He was a member of Pleasant Mills Baptist Church and worked as an “A” Operator, in the Edible Oil Department at Bunge (Central Soya) for 39 ½ years.
David is survived by his 4 daughters, Onetta Canfield of Decatur, IN, Tonya (Jim) King of Indianapolis, IN, Becky Garrett of Portland, IN, Laura (Chris) Mabbitt of Indianapolis, IN; 3 brothers, Marvin (Becky) Mihm, Rex (Barbara) Mihm, and Calvin Mihm; a sister, Rosella White; 6 grandchildren & several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Scott Garrett; a sister, Fern Lough; a brother, Ronald Mihm; brother-in-law, John Lough; and sisters-in-law, Cheryl Mihm, Lorrie Mihm, and Diane Mihm.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with an hour of visitation prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Pastor Bill Halter will be officiating and burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the family.
