Donnie D. Jones

Donnie D. Jones, 60, of Ft. Wayne, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital. He was born in Ft. Wayne, IN, on January 24, 1964, the son of the late Elisha and Eular Mae (Sims) Jones. On January 26, 2021, he married Elnora M. Claycomb.

He was a 1982 graduate of Snider High School, where he was an all-state and all-city football player. He then went on to receive an athletic scholarship to play football for Indiana University.

Donnie worked for Kaough Distributing Company in Ft. Wayne. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He was an avid football fan and especially liked the Indianapolis Colts. He also enjoyed working out and going to the gym.

He is survived by his wife, Elnora M. Jones of Ft. Wayne; 10 siblings, Ernestine Williams, Eva Johnson, Deloris Hollins, Calvin (Beverly) Jones, Tony Jones, Brenda Hamilton, Cynthia Jones, Jeffrey Jones, Terena Jones, and Eric Jones. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews that loved him.

Donnie was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Jones.

A memorial visitation will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home. In honor of Donnie and his laid-back personality, please dress in casual attire.
