Eleanor R. (Wemhoff) Affolder

Eleanor R. (Wemhoff) Affolder, 83, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Adams Woodcrest. She was born in Decatur, IN, on March 24, 1939, the daughter of the late Robert and Fannie (Pence) Wemhoff.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and was a graduate from Decatur Catholic High School. She was a Claims Adjustor for 5 years at Lincoln Life and then worked in housekeeping for 20 years at Woodcrest, retiring in 2012.

Eleanor is survived by her son, Patrick (Christina) Affolder of Bluffton; 2 daughters, Nichole Wass and Jaimee Affolder both of Fort Wayne; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Don and Owen Wemhoff and a sister, Mildred Reber.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Stephen Colchin presiding. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, at a later date.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
