Elisa M. (Torres) Jordan

Elisa M. (Torres) Jordan, 85, of Ft. Wayne, IN, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on January 10, 1940, the daughter of the late Eugenio and Angelina (Santiago) Torres Sr. On December 26, 1970, she married Cristobal F. Jordan and after 52 years together he preceded her in death on February 11, 2023.

She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Wayne and was a 1958 graduate of Central Catholic High School. She worked as a homemaker and owned and operated Hands Prints from 1988 – 1999. Later, at the age of 62, Elisa went back to college and got her Early Childhood certification and taught preschool with passion until she retired. She loved to cook and was known for her Puerto Rican rice. She believed Family is everything!

She along with her late husband enjoyed the many summers at Upper Long Lake at Shady Haven Resort with their family and friends.

Elisa is survived is by her children, Leonardo “Lenny” (Beth Castille) Rivera, Alice “Punkin” Jordan, Nelson (Jennifer) Jordan, Juan (Ashley) Calderon, Cristy (Joseph Meade) Jordan all of Fort Wayne, Larry (Rachel) Perez of TN, Buck (Marissa) Jordan and Gabriel (Mandy) Jordan, both of Defiance, Ohio, Bunny (Steve) Wilson of North Carolina, and Myriam Morales of Ft. Wayne; 3 sisters, Juanita (Alberto) Palacios, Edelmira (Onnie) Drewery and Maria Bilger all of Ft. Wayne; 35 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Gary Phillips; 2 sons, William “Bill” Rivera and Jesus “Chucho” Morales; daughter-in-law, Patricia (Olson) Rivera; 3 brothers, Juan, Luis, and Eugenio Torres; 4 sisters, Ana Gonzalez, Carmen Torres, Antonia Leal, and Luz Maria Ortiz.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park, 6301 Fairfield Ave., Ft. Wayne. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2213 Brooklyn Ave., Fort Wayne, IN. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. and Father Kevin Bauman will be presiding. Burial will take place in Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
