Ernesto Aguilar

Ernesto Aguilar, 72 of Huntertown, IN., cherished husband, devoted father, adored grandfather, beloved brother, and treasured friend, departed from this world on June 8, 2024 at his residence. Ernesto was born in Guadalajara, Mexico on November 8, 1951 to the late David and Ester (Alvarez) Aguilar. On September 16, 1995, Ernesto married Gloria Velasquez. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness that will forever resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ernesto was a man of many talents, but above all, he was a handyman with a heart of gold. Always ready to lend a helping hand without seeking anything in return, his generosity knew no bounds. Whether it was fixing a leaky faucet, building a shelf, or offering words of wisdom, Ernesto's willingness to serve others was unmatched.

One of Ernesto's greatest joys in life was spending time with his beloved family and friends. From joyful gatherings to quiet moments shared over a meal, he cherished every moment spent in their company. His face would light up with delight as he browsed through second-hand stores, seeking hidden treasures, or explored the aisles of hardware stores in search of the perfect tool for his next project.

Although Ernesto has bid farewell to this world, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. While we mourn his loss deeply, we are immensely grateful for the priceless moments we shared with him during his time on earth.

Ernesto is survived by his wife of 28 years, Gloria Aguilar of Huntertown, IN; children, Gabriela Aguilar of Fontana, CA; Nancy (Miguel) Flores of Fontana, CA, Ernest (Isabel) Aguilar of Hesperia, CA, Diane (Francisco) Aguilar of San Bernardino, CA, Edna (Richard) Salazar of Churubusco, IN and Marlin (Eduardo) Villegas of Ft. Wayne, IN; siblings, David Aguilar, Cipriano Aguilar, Teresa Aguilar and Concepcion Aguilar; 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Ramona and Guadalupe and a granddaughter.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Pine Hills Church at 4704 Carroll Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46818, followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Hugo Reyes officiating.
