Gerry G. Hilty, 90, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Adams Woodcrest. Gerry was born on February 10, 1936, in Berne, Indiana, to the late Karl and Florence (Aeschliman) Hilty. On October 6, 1962, Gerry married Karen Robinson.
He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, where he served on many boards of the church, for several years. Gerry was also a Lions Club member for 60 years. He was an Eagle Scout and proudly served his country in the United States Marines.
Gerry was an Electrical Technician; he worked at Franklin Electric and Textron for 34 years.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Karen Hilty of Decatur, IN; 2 sisters, Letty Stauffer of Bluffton, IN, and Abbey Martin of Decatur, IN.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Zion United Church of Christ, with visitation prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Pastor Allen Kahler will be officiating and burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery, with Military graveside rite by American Legion Adams Post 43 Color Guard.
Preferred memorials are to Zion United Church of Christ, Adams County Boy Scouts, or American Legion Adams Post #43 Color Guard.
