Obituary
Howard Dale “Sonny” Heiser, 87, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023. He was born in Hoagland, IN, on November 13, 1935, the son of the late Ray and Pansy (Biggs) Heiser. Howard married Patricia Grim on December 15, 1956, and they shared 66 wonderful years together.
At the young age of 15, “Sonny” started working on the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was later employed by Krick and Tindall Tile Co. and then retired from Prestress Services.
“Sonny” enjoyed fishing, watching IU basketball and was also a previous member of Michindoh Pulling Association.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Heiser; children, Ronnie (Karen) Heiser, Belinda “Sue” (Doug) Keller, Cindy (Ron) Wilder, Mike (Cindy) Heiser; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Darlene Roop and Geraldine “Lucille” Douglas; a brother, Lew Heiser.
A private family service will be held and burial following at the Decatur Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to Stillwater Hospice.
