Ignacia (Rojo) Nevares

Ignacia Nevares, 89, of Ohio City, OH, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Queretaro, Mexico on May 25, 1933 to the late Geronimo and Belen (Gruz) Rojo. On February 3, 1954, Ignacia married Cristobal Nevares; he preceded her in death on April 22, 1991.

Ignacia was a homemaker.

She was the mother to her 10 children, Gilbert Perez of Hopkinsville, KY, Jesus Juan (Flor) Nevares of Elgin, ILL, Francisco (Elizabeth) Nevares of Ohio City, OH, Maria (Jesus) Mendoza of Ohio City, OH, Cristobal Nevares Jr. of Ohio City, OH, Susanna (Jim) Defoyd of Houston, TX, Ruben (Mary) Nevares of Edinburg, TX, Armando (Silvia) Nevares of Elsa, TX, Jose (Lisa) Nevares of Montpelier, IN and Fernando Nevares of Decatur, IN; 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Graciela Nevares, a daughter-in-law, Gisela Perez and a great grandchild.

Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 4:00 p.m. following visitation with Fr. David Ruppert presiding.
