James R. Affolder

James R. (Jim) Affolder, 57, of Berne, Indiana, passed away at his residence on Thursday, September 7, 2023. Jim was born on April 15, 1966 in Portland, IN to Ray and Phyllis (Wolford) Affolder. On December 2, 1989, Jim married Melissa Eldridge.

Jim worked in maintenance at Red Gold in Geneva. Jim was dedicated and driven in every aspect of his life. He loved his boys and his wife deeply. He was a hard worker and an avid fan of his Adams Central Jets and the NHRA.

He is survived by his wife Melissa Affolder; his parents, Ray and Phyllis Affolder; 2 sons, Brett and Blake Affolder; a brother, Mark (LeeAnn) Affolder all of Berne and a sister, Marla Lutes of Pennville.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

A private family service will follow visitation, with Pastor Sam Padgett officiating.
