James M. Reed

James M. Reed, 74, of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Lutheran Hospital. James was born in Lima, Ohio on September 29, 1951 to the late Otto and Betty (Folk) Reed. James was first married to Nyla (August) Reed, she preceded him in death in September, 1992. On June 28, 2003 he married Beverly A. Gase.

James retired from Fleetwood and CME. He was a Son of American Legion #207.

He is survived by his wife Beverly A. Reed of Decatur; 2 daughters, Crista (Dalton) Sheets of Geneva and Leesha (Emilie) Culp of Ft. Wayne; a sister, Cindy (David) Huddle; 3 grandchildren, Emma, Ella and Elsie.

James was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Reed and a sister Cheryl Thomas.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, followed by a time of sharing at 4:00 p.m.
