Jamie L. Bebout

Jamie L. Bebout, 53, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Stillwater Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. He was born in Decatur, on June 4, 1971, the son of John “Terry” and Tessa L. (Hawkins) Bebout. On March 7, 1992, Jamie was united in marriage to Amy Hackman.

He had worked at Bunge for 32 years. Jamie also loved spending countless hours with his dog, Piper, aka “P Dog”!

Jamie thoroughly enjoyed volleyball, especially watching his daughter, Taylor play. Taylor was the light of his life. He was extremely proud of her and all her accomplishments, from playing Division 1 Volleyball, the sport that as a family they all loved, and getting a degree that will give her a bright future. The memories that they have created together while traveling to countless practices and games is truly what gave him purpose!

Jamie is survived by his wife of 32 years, Amy Bebout of Decatur, IN; his daughter, Taylor (fiancé Juwuan Jones) Bebout of Winder, GA; a brother, Matt (Leslie) Bebout of Decatur, IN; his father, John “Terry” (Tammy) Bebout of Decatur, IN; in-laws, Jeffrey “Willie” (Debbie) Hackman of Decatur, IN; brother-in-law, Aaron Hackman of Fort Wayne, IN.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Tessa Diehl; his step father, Ronald Diehl.

A Memorial Visitation will be from noon – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home. The family asks that you wear casual attire to the visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Adams County Crisis Shelter or Honor Flight Northeast Indiana.
