Jean E. Kahn, 69, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Culver, IN, on February 9, 1953. On April 6, 1993, she married George E. Kahn Jr., and he survives.
She worked her entire life as a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed collecting frogs and fishing for turtles.
Jean is also survived by her 2 daughters, Jennifer M. Kelly of Ft. Wayne and Jessica E. Patch of Decatur; 2 sisters, Julia Ann Clark of Butler and Marilyn (James) Alberson of Ridgeville; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her adopted parents, Charles and Leona (Steed) Hale; biological parents, Joseph E. Wolf Sr. and Hazel L. (Thompson) Campbell; first husband, Robert E. Kelly Sr.; her son, Robert E. Kelly Jr.; 4 brothers, Joseph E. Wolf Jr., Donald E. Clark, Roger L. Hale, and Allen R. Wolf.
A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Pastor Dan York will be officiating and burial will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Leiters Ford, IN, at a later date.
