Jeanette R. (Braun) Loshe

Jeanette R. Loshe, 98, of Decatur, IN, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Decatur, IN, on September 7, 1924, the daughter of the late Frank R. and Bertha A. (Kintz) Braun. On November 29, 1947, she married Ralph J. Loshe and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2007.

She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and was a 1942 graduate of Decatur Catholic High School. She was also a member of the Rosary Society and volunteered for the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

Jeanette worked in the office at G.E. in Decatur and was also a waitress at the West End. She was a homemaker and also was a beautician and ran Styles by Jeanette for many years. 

She is survived by her 4 children, Suzanne M. McCarthy of Minooka, IL, Patrick R. (Karen) Loshe of Greenfield, IN, Dianne M. (Paul Jr.) Swygart of Decatur, IN Chris J. (Karen) Loshe of Decatur, IN; a sister, Rita M. Young of Fort Wayne, IN; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bill McCarthy Jr., 5 brothers, 2 sisters, a step sister, a step brother, and a brother-in-law, Frank Young Jr.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Father Dave Ruppert will be the celebrant and burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or St. Joseph Catholic School.
