Jeffery S. Atkinson, 62, of Berne, IN passed away at his residence on Monday, March 31, 2025. Jeff was born on October 5, 1962 in Portland, IN to the late Larry D. and Lucy K. (Smith) Atkinson. On September 16, 2017, Jeff married Carrie Crabtree.
Jeff attended Pleasant Dale Church. He worked for Fleming’s as a Heavy Equipment Operator, a 14-year member and President of the Barbarians Motorcycle Club. Jeff was a member IUOE#103. He worked part-time for Zurcher Tire in Monroe doing deliveries. He was also joint owner of J & C Motorcycle Apparel and Accessories; promotor of 7 motorcycle swap meets; worked out of his garage changing tires, and minor motorcycle repairs.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Atkinson of Berne, IN; a son, Scott Atkinson of Decatur, IN; step children, Tyler (Joy) Butler of Tennessee, Samantha (Tim) Koch of Howe, IN and Teah (Anthany) Stevens of Decatur, IN; two sisters, Michelle (Ben) Parrish of Decatur, IN, and Alissa (Shane) Mountz of Monroe, IN; 5 grandchildren, Lily, Daizy, Bellarose, Zay and Luella.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and a step-son, Rhett Butler.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with calling prior from 3:00-7:00 p.m. with Pastor Jay Carter officiating.
Burial will take place in Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery, Ohio at a later date.
Preferred Memorials can be made to Bikers for Bicycles (check made to Rod Nelson) and Adams County Cancer Coalition.
