John H. Clark, 82, of Ohio City, OH, passed away Monday, April 14, 2025, at his residence. He was born on June 30, 1942, in Delphos, OH, the son of Melvin and Lillian Clark. On July 4, 1964, John married Meana L. Beair, she preceded him in death on August 16, 2015.
He served his country in the United States Navy, where he earned the Expeditionary Medal for his service in the Cuban Missile Crisis. Was a member of the V.F.W. John retired as the Chief Firefighter at the Delphos Fire Department. He loved his family, and was an avid deer hunter; according to him he was the best that ever lived.
John is survived by his daughter, Julie (Brad) Cereghin of Convoy, OH; 3 sons, Jeffrey Clark of Beaufort, SC, John (Patricia) Clark of Harrod, OH, James (Kristen) Clark of Decatur, IN; a brother, Fredrick (Sandra) Clark of Cidersville, OH; 7 grandchildren, Cassandra (Nick), Andrew, Jackson, Kyle (Kaylin), Molly (Christopher), Kane (Corinne), and Krew; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild on the way; 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Meana Clark; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Clark; 2 brothers, Ernest & Melvin Clark; a sister, Becky McCauley.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with Pastor Matt Moore officiating the service. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Ridge Cemetery, in Ohio.
Memorials may be given to the family.
