Joy A. (DeBolt) Bauman

Joy A. Bauman, 76, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Adams Memorial Hospital. Joy was born in Decatur, IN on February 17, 1947, the daughter of the late Kenneth L. and JoAnn (Walker) DeBolt. On July 11, 1970, she married Deryl A. Bauman; he preceded her in death on January 21, 2012.

Joy was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and sang in the St. Mary’s Choir. She was in the Hoosier Carnival Glass Club and was a former member of the American Legion Adams Post 43 Ladies Auxiliary.

She worked as the office manager and assistant for 20 years at the Foot and Ankle Clinic first for Dr. Wiseman and then for Dr. Smith. She was also was the bookkeeper for K-Mart in Decatur

Joy is survived by her 3 sisters, Toni DeBolt, Danielle (Jon) Fuhrman and Michelle (Kriss) Affolder all of Decatur; 2 nephews, 2 nieces; 2 great nephews and 4 great nieces.

NO services will be held at this time. The family will gather privately and inurnment will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Father David Ruppert will preside over the Committal Rites.

Preferred memorials may be made to the St.  Mary’s Choir.
