Judith K. “Judy” Collins, 74, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones at her residence, after her battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Decatur, Indiana on May 13, 1948, the daughter of Charles Edward and Neva Deloris (Cook) Workinger. On July 9, 1967, she married Ron L. Collins.
She drove school bus for Adams Central School for 43 years and drove Amish school children for the last 20 years.
Judy attended the Monroe Lighthouse Church. She loved life to the fullest. She had an adventurous spirit and loved every person she met. Judy lived life for her family. She also loved horses, enjoyed spending time at Oliver Lake and with her Whiner friends.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ron L. Collins; a son, James Edward “Jimmy” (Rebecca Lynn “Becky) Collins of Decatur; a daughter, Rhonda Mary (Robert) Chavarria of Van Wert; a brother, Gary Lee (Arlene Ann) Workinger of Monroe; a sister, Patricia “Pat” (Dan) Michaels of Monroe; 10 grandchildren, Jon (Sheena) Collins, Jenson (Cassy) Collins, Kaylee (Caleb) Gaiser, Kyndall (Ryan) Stucky, Karly Prichard, Kelsey Prichard, Nathan (Chelsey) Chavarria, Jessica (Keston) Schneider, John (Betty) Charvarria, Jacob (Emily) Chavarria; 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Monroe Lighthouse Church with calling an hour prior to the service, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Pastor David Myers will be officiating.
Memorials can be made to The Lighthouse Church or Adams Central School.
