Karen Miller Obituary

Karen K. Miller, 59, of Monroe, IN, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Franklin, Germany, on September 22, 1962, the daughter of the late James Myers and Linda Hansen. On November 26, 1994, she married Lawrence P. Miller.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and was a 1980 graduate of Bluffton High School. She enjoyed doing craftwork.

Karen had worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for Adams County Memorial Hospital both on the Ambulance and in the Emergency Room until 2001. She then went on to work as a Medical Assistance for Dr. Mark Gresla until 2015.

She is survived by husband of 27 years, Larry Miller of Monroe; her son, Michael L. (fiancée Claire Faurote) Miller of Monroe; 2 sisters, Cindy (Brian) Furher of Huntley, IL and Barb Lane of Ft. Wayne. She was preceded in death by her adoptive father, Jerry Lane.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022, in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Father David Ruppert will be presiding and burial will immediately follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Monroe Fire Department or the American Diabetes Association.
