Kaye A. (Varner) Bender

Kaye A. Bender, 82, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Adams Woodcrest. She was born in Decatur, on July 21, 1940, the daughter of Mark Louis and Margaret (McGill) Varner. Kaye was united in marriage to Steven Michael Bender, he preceded her in death on Monday, June 5, 2023.

She worked in Decatur and Bluffton, as a Dietitian in a couple different Nursing Homes and was a Cook at the Pioneer Restaurant, in Decatur.

Kaye is survived by her children, Laura Brantley of Decatur, Mark Schwartz of Decatur, Christina Faye Schwartz of Decatur, Steve (Debra) Schwartz of Decatur, Michael Andrew Schwartz of Milan, MI, Melissa Annette Brames of Grand Rapids, MI; brothers, Larry Eicher of Newport News, VA and Daniel Eicher of Fort Wayne, IN; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Bender; a brother, Kent Varner; a sister, Ann Walsh.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
