Kenneth W. Miller, of rural Decatur, Indiana passed away at his residence on Saturday, June 24, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. Born on November 30, 1942, in Bryant, Indiana, the son of the late Raymond E. and Anna Ruth (Butcher) Miller. On May 23, 1991, he married Sandra K. Erbacher.
He attended Zion United Church of Christ. He was a self-employed carpenter for 40 years and had also worked for Berne Furniture and then for EP Graphics for 5 years.
Ken was a member of the National Muzzle Loading Riffle Association. He and his wife participated in many Living History Rendezvous events, where he was known as Crooked Feather and was well known and loved. From a young age he was interested in knives and became very skilled at making, selling, and trading them.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sandra K. Miller of Decatur; a son, Scott (Bonnie) Miller of Van Wert, OH; a daughter, Susan (Dan) Kelly of Bryant, IN; a sister, Betty L. Stone of Ft. Wayne, IN; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Zemlis and a stepson, John Schisler Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with Rev. Randy Rossman officiating. Memorial visitation will be held 2 hours prior to service from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bryant, IN.
