L. Ruth (Jones) Myers

L. Ruth Myers, 90, of Berne, Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Adams Memorial Hospital. Ruth was born in Berne, Indiana on October 28, 1932 to the late Orval C. and Vera (Swoveland) Jones. On August 26, 1950 Ruth married Herbert E. Myers. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2022.

Ruth was a hard worker her whole life, she loved working on the farm assisting in anyway that was needed, and tending to her garden. She worked in her younger years at the former Egg Plant in Berne. Ruth then ran the Myers Furniture store in Willshire, OH. for approximately five years, transitioning to her waitress position at the Parkway restaurant.  Then after her retirement she volunteered with the Adams County Historical Society for almost twenty years. 

She is survived by two sons John W. Myers of Fort Wayne, IN., Rex (Vicki) Myers of Berne, IN., one brother Paul Jones of Berne, IN., two sisters Shirley Stoehr of Decatur, IN., Iris Sprunger of Berne, IN., four grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Haggard Hirschy & Zelt Funeral home at 2:30pm on Wednesday January 18, 2023. Visitation will be prior to the service on Wednesday from noon to 2:30. Burial will take place at Springhill Cemetery in Berne, IN. Pastor Rick Schwartz will be officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Adams County Boys and Girls Club.
