Larry David Daniels (Age 84) passed away at Woodcrest Nursing on February 10th, 2026. Larry was born on April 26th 1941 to Arthur D. Daniels and Marjorie Woodruff (Daniels).
Larry was a lifelong resident of Decatur. He attended Lincoln Grade School and Graduated from Decatur High School in 1959. Larry was a sports enthusiast. He played Basketball, but his first love was Baseball (Yankees Fan). He was referred to as "Rags" by his friend Al Bowen for having what he referred to as a "very lame arm". Larry was also an avid Golfer and would often brag about his hole in one he hit at Canterbury Golf Couse in Fort Wayne. Larry loved the Yankees and he loved Mickey Mantle growing up. He was also a Dallas Cowboys Fan "How bout them Cowboys" he would say every Sunday. But most of all Larry Loved IU Basketball. He loved the "General" Bobby Knight.
Larry worked at BF Goodrich for almost 40 years until he retired to a life of leisure and golf. He was a member of the Decatur Elks 993, The Decatur Eagles, American Legion Post (SAL member), and Moose Lodge 1311.
In 1998, Larry married Patricia Ann Kintz (Daniels). Larry is survived by his 2 daughters Tracy Greaves and Wendy Cross (both of Georgia). Larry also lost his oldest Daughter, Robin Daniels to cancer.
Larry has 2 Grandchildren Colton and Braden Cross (Sons of Wendy Cross). He loved his Grandchildren with all his Heart. Larry had 2 Brothers (both deceased). A. Jackie Daniels and Roger Daniels.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Adams Woodcrest Porter Auditorium and 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home. Family ask that you come casual or in your IU, Cowboys or Yankees attire.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2026 at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with Father Jacob Runyon presiding.
Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials can be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Adams County.
