Larry W. Klenk, 85, of Van Wert, Ohio, was called upon by his Lord and Savior on September 6, 2025, after a long courageous battle from injuries sustained from an automobile accident.
Larry was born in Decatur, IN, September 2, 1940, to the late Ferdinand and Frances Josephine Klenk.
He was preceded in death by his brother James "Jim" Klenk.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Cassie (Matthew) Klenk-Willard of Salem, VA & Dana (Martin) Whorley of Elliston, VA. Grandchildren, Robert Wilson & Stephani Wilson and great grandchildren. Nephew, Matthew (Trisha) Klenk of Decatur, IN. Former wife, Mariko Klenk Linder of Salem, VA.
His very special friends who gave him wonderful care and memories, Graham "Elvis" Futrell & Connie Pearce and special neighbor, Brian Price.
Larry was so appreciative of his friends who were dedicated to visiting him and the caregivers who made it possible for him to stay home where he wanted to be with his precious boys, Buddy and Joe.
Larrys' family founded and operated Klenk's of Decatur, IN, for many years. Larry was employed by Dana Corporation and later was self-employed in the timber business.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Larry touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor, warmth and gregarious outgoing nature. He possessed a brilliant mind, disarming wit and loving heart. He made his presence known & never knew a stranger.
Larry had a lust for life and enjoyed fishing, golfing, the outdoors, dancing, music, playing his guitar and bringing laughter to those who knew him.
Per Larry's request there will be a private service held.
Memorials may be given to Wounded Warriors.
