Lois J. (Schug) Christman

Lois J. Christman, 97, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at her residence. She was born on November 4, 1926, in Berne, IN, the daughter of the late Carl Irvin and Myrtle A. (Potts) Schug. On January 11, 1947, Lois married Ray Christman, he preceded her in death on June 23, 2007.

She was a member of the DAV Auxiliary and worked at CTS for 26 years.

Lois is survived by her 5 daughters, Kathy Sheets of Columbia City, IN, Jaynie Genth, Sheri (Leon) Mitchel, Debbie (Joel) Houk and Julie (Jeff) Kukelhan all of Decatur, IN; a brother, Leonard (Elaine) Schug of Decatur, IN; a brother-in-law, James Teeple of Monroe, IN; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ray Christman; a brother, Paul Schug; a sister, Clara Lou Teeple; a son-in-law, Steve Sheets; a grandson, Shawn Genth.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with visitation 2 hours before from Noon – 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in M.R.E. Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Samaritans Purse or Tunnels to Towers.
