Lois A. (Werling) Gehrig

Lois A. Gehrig, 92, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Adams Woodcrest. She was born in Preble, Indiana, on June 22, 1933, the daughter of the late Milton C. and Treva A. (Ray) Werling. On October 27, 1950, Lois married Gerald L. “Jerry” Gehrig.

She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ. Lois was employed at Strickler Trailer Sales for 12 years.

Lois is survived by her loving husband of 75 years, Jerry Gehrig of Decatur, IN; her son, Randy (Jill) Gehrig of Angola, IN; a son-in-law, Ronald Arnold of Decatur, IN; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Arnold; two brothers, Donald & Jean Werling; a sister, Ruth Abels.

A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with visitation prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Chaplain Charlene Rorick will be officiating and burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.
