Lois B. Johnson, 91, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Adams Woodcrest. Lois was born on January 2, 1935, in Decatur, IN to the late Willaim and Laura Mae (Poling) Strahm. On November 20, 1955, she married the love of her life, Paul W.  “Bud” Johnson. They were happily married for 70 years.

She was a high school graduate of Decatur H.S. in 1953 and received a Secretarial Associate’s from International Business College. Lois had worked in the Engineering office at Central Soya and the law office of Custer & Smith Attorneys. Lois held several part time positions as she was a full-time homemaker as her children grew up.

Lois was a member of St. Mark’s Church. She was involved in the United Methodist Women and was a past president. She worked in the church office and was in charge of funeral dinners for many years.

After her husband retired, they moved to Port Orange, Florida where they lived for 23 years before moving back to Decatur. Lois and Bud instantly got involved in their Port Orange Church, where Lois immersed herself in a quilting group and Sunday School Class. Lois and her husband had a heart for Missions, especially Red Bird in Kentucky where they spent countless summers helping repair and rebuild homes.

Lois loved having tea parties with her grandchildren and mending their blankets over the years. When returning to Decatur Lois looked forward to playing at the park with her great grandson.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Paul (Jackie) Johnson Jr. of Elyria, OH, Bill (Joyce) Johnson of Decatur, IN; daughter, Jennifer Baczynski of Decatur, IN; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sister, Rosemary DeGraw of Mason City, Iowa.
