Mable Irene Ehrsam, 98, formerly of Monroe, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022, at Northern Lakes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Angola, Indiana. She was born on December 6, 1923, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Odes R. and Bessie B. (Lichtenberger) Gould. On April 28, 1943, she married Glenn E. “Mike” Ehrsam, after 64 years of marriage he preceded her in death on October 11, 2007.
She was a member of the former, Monroe Friends Church. Mable was a homemaker, worked in retail at Sears & Roebuck Co., retiring from there. Mable enjoyed being involved in Better Home Gardens Home Economic Club and volunteered her time for many years, driving cancer patients to their doctor appointments.
Mable is survived by her son, Steve (Darlene) Ehrsam.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael “Tony” Ehrsam; her daughter, Kathalee Hall; 2 brothers, Sherman and Frank Gould; a sister, Esther Sanquist.
A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. August 11, 2022, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with calling an hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Spring Hill / Backesto Cemetery, Berne, Indiana.
