Margaret Pogue Obituary

Margaret A. Pogue, 78, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Adams Memorial Hospital, Margaret was born on August 7, 1945 in Fort Wayne to the late John and Eileen (Smith) Rickord. On July 4, 1966, Margaret married William (Bill) Pogue; he survives.

Margaret was a devout Christian. She enjoyed her flowers and gardening. She was a homemaker and helped raise her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Ann (Mark) Bixler of Decatur, Mike (Jean) Pogue of New Bury Park, CA, Tracey (Rich) Lavey of Lima, OH, Chris (Amy) Pogue of Decatur, Dan (Tara) Pogue of North Fort Myers, FL and Julie (Joe) Lengerich of Decatur; 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Lou VanCamp, Steve Rickord, Kath Scott, Johnny Rickord, Jodi (Rich) Rumple, Nancy Hamilton, Rose Burge, Barney (Lynn) Rickord, and Ed Rickord.

Margaret was preceded in death by a brother Dan Rickord, sister, Jan Smith, grandson, Matthew Pogue, daughter-in-law, Kristine Pogue, brothers-in-law, Don VanCamp, John Smith and Chuck Hamilton.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with calling 1 hour prior from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Officiating will be Father David Ruppert.

Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery immediately following services.

Preferred memorials are to ACCF North Adams Autism Fund or ACCF Angel Cancer Fund.
