Margaret R. (Richards) Wommer

Margaret R. Wommer, 86, of Berne, IN, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Adams Memorial Hospital. Margaret was born in Hillsdale, Michigan on July 29, 1937 to the late Claude M. and Mary Ellen (Klinck) Richards. On June 25, 1960, Margaret married John F. Wommer; he preceded her in death in 2018.

Margaret served as a Pastor’s wife, they served in the Christian & Missionary Alliance, Free Methodist and upon returning to Berne, she attended Berne Evangelical Church. She was also a Registered Nurse.

She is survived by 3 children, John (Kathy) Wommer II of Phoenix, AZ, Jenifer (Mark) Hirschy of Berne, IN and Joy (Todd) McLaughlin of Ft. Wayne, IN; a sister, Marilyn (Les) Harmon of Ohio; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Hirschy in 1992 and 5 great grandchildren, Precious, Hananiah, Berekiah, Enoch and Tirzah-Joy McLaughlin.

There will be No Services at this time. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

Burial will be in MRE Cemetery, Berne.

Preferred memorials are to Berne Evangelical Church, Children’s Ministry.
