Marilyn R. (Norton) Sprunger

Marilyn Ruth Sprunger, 94, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 22, 2024. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN, on October 31, 1929, the daughter of the late Chester C. and Ruth V. (Cook) Norton. On May 6, 1953, Marilyn married Edward F. “Ed” Sprunger, he preceded her in death on December 12, 2014.

She was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church. Marilyn was a kind and loving wife and mother. She enjoyed being a homemaker, she worked at G.E. in Fort Wayne and also at Perfection Biscuit Company.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Sally J. Sprunger and Cherie D. (Ed) Gage both of Decatur; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Ed Sprunger; her brother, Robert Norton; her sister, Maxine Howey.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home with visitation an hour before the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ed Karges will be officiating and burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be given to the Adams County Animal Shelter.
