Mary C. (Gase) Geimer

Mary C. Geimer, 72, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Adams Woodcrest. She was born in Hays, Kansas, on December 20, 1950, the daughter of Irenaeus F. and Rose M. (Schurger) Gase. On April 27, 1968, she married David L. Geimer.

She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and was an Adams County Township Trustee Administrator.

Mary was a very loving and caring person. She was an excellent cook and always thought her family was on the brink of starvation. She loved her Grand Boys very much and loved when they were gathered in her kitchen for a meal. David and Mary were leaders of Decatur Youth Bowling for 22 years where she was lovingly known as “Mrs. Coach”.

Mary is survived by her husband of almost 55 years, David L. Geimer of Decatur; a son, David (Stacy) Geimer of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Theresa (Mike) Boyd of Decatur; a brother, Joseph (Kathleen) Gase of Colorado Springs, CO; 4 grandchildren, Caleb, Sawyer & Payton Boyd and Nicholas Geimer.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with calling 1 hour prior from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Father David Ruppert officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
