Mary Lou (Kitson) Stout

Mary Lou Stout, 76, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, at Adams Memorial Hospital. She was born in Decatur, IN, on September 25, 1945, the daughter of the late Thomas D. and Florence Faye (Fritzinger) Kitson. In 1962, she married Jerry A. Stout, he preceded her in death on December 23, 1984.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. She worked as an L.P.N. at Adams County Hospital and for various nursing homes and finished her career, retiring in 2000.

She is survived by 3 sons, Thomas R. Stout, Michael J. Stout and Christopher J. Gravens all of Decatur; 2 daughters, Julie A. Stout (Shane Riley) of Willshire, OH and Amy J. Stout of Decatur; a brother, David (Pat) Kitson of Decatur; 7 grandchildren.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Kitson.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2022, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022, in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father David Ruppert presiding.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital.
