Mary Ellen (Byerly) Arnold

Mary Ellen Arnold, 90, of Geneva, IN passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Adams Memorial Hospital. Mary Ellen was born on April 13, 1934, daughter of the late Loyd and Dolores (Buckmaster) Byerly. On December 31, 1953, Mary Ellen married Jim E. Arnold. He preceded her in death on December 27, 2020.

Mary Ellen was a member of Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren. She was a 40 year plus member of the Adams County Home Ec. Association. Mary Ellen was a housewife and worked 30 years for Caylor Nickel and 13 years for Swiss Village as an LPN.

She is survived by her son, James L. (Diana) Arnold of Geneva, IN; 3 daughters, Joy L. (Rick) Fay of Indianapolis, IN, Janis L. (Lynn) Dustman and Joan L. Arnold both of Geneva, IN; sisters-in-law, Sue Byerly of Wabash, IN and Pat Arnold of Monroe, IN; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 bonus grandchildren and 4 bonus great grandchildren.

Mary Ellen is preceded in death by a brother, Dee M. Byerly.

Visitation for Mary Ellen will be on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren with Pastor Jay Carter officiating. Calling will be prior to services from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be in Pleasant Dale Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren.
