Michelle D. (Wallace) McZegle

Michelle D. McZegle, 64, of Liberty Center, IN, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne. Michelle was born on December 5, 1960, in Van Wert, Ohio the daughter of the late Roland E. and Berneice M. (Lautzenheiser) Wallace. On November 27, 1985, Michelle married Ronald G. McZegle and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2024.

She was a 1978 graduate of Crestview High School and was a member of Liberty Center United Methodist Church. Michelle served her country in the U.S. Army as an MP and was stationed in South Korea.

Michelle was a homemaker and held various factory jobs. She loved watching her grandchildren grow up, baking cookies at Christmas time, and baking cakes and decorating them.

She is survived by her 3 children, Joe McZegle of Bluffton, Rick (Natalie) McZegle of Ft. Wayne, and Rhonda (Steven) Fisher of Huntington; 3 brothers, John Wallace of Van Wert, OH, Gene (Cheri) Wallace of Decatur, IN and Bob Wallace of Fort Wayne, IN; a sister, Jan (Dale) Brown of Decatur; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with visitation 2 hours prior from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Pastor Steve Bard will be officiating and burial will take place in Tricker (Blue Creek) Cemetery immediately following the service. Military Graveside Rites will be rendered by the American Legion Adams Post 43 Color Guard.
