Myles Baczynski Obituary

Myles R. Baczynski, 53, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, after bravely battling mental and physical illnesses. His pain became unbearable, but he is remembered for his strength and the love he shared with his family and friends.

Born on October 16, 1970, in Imperial, Missouri, he was the son of the late Edward M. and Elaine E. (McQueary) Baczynski. Myles graduated from Lakeland High School in 1989 and earned an Associate's degree in Travel and Tourism from International Business College. On August 21, 1993, he married his beloved wife, Jennifer J. Johnson, with whom he shared 31 wonderful years.

Myles was especially proud of his daughters, Mae and Megan. Their academic and financial accomplishments filled him with immense pride.

Myles was a member of St. Mark’s Church and worked as a purchasing manager at Bunge for 19 years, where he was known for his commitment and work ethic. He found joy in many activities, including playing board games, listening to music, spending time outdoors, and tending to his chickens. He loved camping trips, road trips, and riding bikes, and cherished every moment spent with his family.

An avid sports fan and follower, Myles rooted for the Indianapolis Colts, St. Louis Cardinals, and St. Louis Blues. He also loved tinkering with all kinds of electronic gadgets, indulging in ice cream, and finding the best free hotel breakfasts.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Baczynski; two daughters, Mae E. (AJ Bienz) Baczynski of Richmond, VA, and Megan M. Baczynski of Decatur; his father and mother-in-law, Paul and Lois Johnson of Decatur; five brothers: Mark Baczynski of Duck River, TN, Matt (Lisa) Baczynski of Waterloo, IN, Marty (Angel) Baczynski of Wolcottville, IN, Marshall (Rachel) Baczynski of Howe, IN, and Mitchell Baczynski of LaGrange, IN; a sister, Maralee (David) Welsheimer of Hudson, IN; a sister-in-law, Angie Baczynski of Rome City, IN; and a brother-in-law, Bill (Joyce) Johnson of Decatur. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Baczynski.
