S. Oren Woodward, 84, of New Haven, IN, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Golden Years Homestead, Fort Wayne. Oren was born on October 6, 1938 in Reading, PA to the late George P. and Mary Opal (Huff) Woodward. On June 29, 1957, he married Faye E. Haines; she preceded him in death on December 16, 2021.
Oren was a member of Berne Church of the Nazarene. He drove milk truck in his younger years before going into the ministry. He was a missionary, where he served overseas for many years. Oren also served as a Preacher, Evangelist, and in Childrens Ministries during the summer. He loved his family and being used by God to bring honor to him.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Sharon (Guy) Blazer of Washington Court House, OH, Manna Asher of Belleville, IL and Brenda (Jonathan) Hinkle of New Haven, IN; a sister, Anna Schiedly of New Jersey; 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Oren was preceded in death by a son, Merlin Woodward, a sister, Priscilla Seymour and a foster son, Johnie Harry LaBott.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Berne Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Matthew Phillips officiating. Visitation will be prior from 10:00-11:00 a.m. also at the church.
Burial will be in Six Mile Cemetery, Bluffton IN.
Preferred memorials are to Erma Camp, Cape May, New Jersey.
