Patricia C. (Vogelwede) Ginter

Patricia C. Ginter, 95, of Decatur, IN, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at her daughter’s residence. She was born in Indianapolis, IN, on March 16, 1929, the daughter of the late Bernard L. and Edith (Green) Vogelwede. She was raised by her step parents, the late John W. and Martha A. (Baker) Meibers. On April 21, 1948, Patricia married Vernon H. Ginter and after 57 years he preceded her in death on December 16, 2004.

She was a graduate of Decatur Catholic High School, Class of 1947. She was a member of St. Mark’s Church and was involved in the Faith Circle. She was also a member of the Decatur Camera Club, Adams County Coin Club, Adams County Heart Club and Bacon Burners Camping Club.

She worked for the United Telephone Company for over 40 years before retiring in 1985.

Pat is survived by her son, John (Nancy) Ginter of Decatur; her daughter, Susan Rice of Decatur; a sister, Kathryn Hammond of Decatur; 3 grandchildren, Robert Rice, Ryan (Amy) Rice and Karrie (Matthew) Macke; 3 great grandchildren, Rilee, Owen and Connor Rice.

She was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Rene Rice; son-in-law, David Rice; brothers, Ed and Joseph Vogelwede; sisters, Lillian Rondeau and Harriet Shoaf.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at St. Mark’s Church, with an hour of visitation before the service from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Pastor David Reed will be officiating and burial will immediately follow in the Decatur Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to P.A.W.S. of Adams County.
