Patricia Emma Lou (Reed) Parrish

Patricia Emma Lou Parrish, 89, passed peacefully to her heavenly home with the Lord on Thursday, October 3, 2024. She was born on August 24, 1935, to the late Kenneth H. and Margaret G. (Hebble) Reed. Patricia married her sweetheart, John H. Parrish, who passed on September 22, 2021. Patricia and John were married on July 6, 1952, almost 70 years.

Patricia was a member of Pleasant Mills Baptist Church, and a member of the Oliver Gang, an enthusiast of Oliver tractors. She was a homemaker and followed her husband while he served in the military for over twenty years. Patricia traveled with her husband and their five children around the world until his retirement. She was a dedicated, hard worker. During her retirement, Patricia and her husband enjoyed traveling, especially taking trips to Michigan.

She is survived by her five children: four daughters, Sandra Parrish, Candice Bauman, Cindy Fruechte, Susan Tonner, and a son, John Parrish Jr. She leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and one surviving sister.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, one grandchild, one grandson-in-law, one great grandchild, two sisters, and a brother.

A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with visitation before the service from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Pastor Mike Wertenberger will be officiating and burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
