Ralph Martin Buettner, 79, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Adams Woodcrest. Ralph was born on September 19, 1944, in Decatur, to the late Norman and Mildred (Kirchner) Buettner.
He was a graduate of Pleasant Mills High School and was then drafted into service with the United States Army. He served a tour in Vietnam and was honorably discharged as a Specialist 4th Class. Ralph retired as a machinist for White Industries.
Ralph is survived by 2 daughters, Jennifer (Jim) McClurg of Willshire, OH, and Misty Buettner of CA; a brother, Roger Buettner of Decatur; 3 grandchildren, Joe McClurg, Jamison McClurg and Samanth (Buettner) Girod; 1 great granddaughter, Mya Girod. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Angelita Buettner.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024, in the Decatur Cemetery. Pastor Jay Carter will be officiating and Military Gravesite Rites will be rendered by the American Legion Adams Post 43 Color Guard.
Arrangements were Entrusted to Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
