Reyes Roman Obituary

Reyes H. “Ray” Roman, 86, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Adams Woodcrest. He was born in San Antonio, TX, on January 6, 1939, the son of the late Mariano and Ernestina (Hernandez) Roman. On September 30, 1957, he married Carolyn L. Sudduth.

He was a member of Living Word Temple. He worked for over 50 years as a self-employed truck driver.

He is survived his wife of 68 years, Carolyn Roman of Decatur; 5 sons, Joe (Jackie) Roman, Dan (Carla) Roman, Tony (Emily) Roman, Steven Roman, and Mike (Mandy) Roman all of Decatur; a daughter, Jani Masethin of Decatur; 2 sisters, Benita Mata of Decatur and Emma Macias both of Decatur; 17 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ruben and Reynaldo Roman; 3 sisters, Maria Ortiz, Manuela DeLeon, and Aurelia Morales.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 also the funeral home, with Pastor Jerry French officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Burial will take place in the Decatur Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Living Word Temple.
