Robert A. Pickens

Robert A. Pickens, 89, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at his residence. Robert was born on June 2, 1935 in Las Vegas, New Mexico, to the late Andrew J. and Mary (Clark) Pickens. On February 13, 1999, Robert married Judith A. Roudebush.

Robert was self-employed. He worked for Prestress for over 20 years and drove Amish. He was a member of VFW Post 6236 and American Legion Adams Post 43. He served in the US Army, where he did a tour in Korea.

He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Pickens of Decatur; his children, Roger Pickens of Geneva, Rob Pickens of IL, Dede (Al) Reda of WI, Judi (Jim) Soulides of Chicago, Susan Pickens of Decatur, Melissa Parker of Avilla, Amy (Jim) Moeschberger of Monroe and Robin Strickler of Monroe; 5 siblings; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by 4 children, James Pickens, Cheryl Lusk, John Strickler and Adela Hunter.

Per Robert’s request, there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorials are be made to Adams County Cancer Coalition.
