Ruben J. Alanis

Ruben J. Alanis, 48, of Decatur, IN passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at his residence. Ruben was born in Decatur on March 19, 1974, to Ruben J. Alanis Sr. and Sandra J. (Deere) Slusher.

He was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and was a 1996 Bellmont High School graduate. He was involved with Bi-County Services for 25 years, which was his entire world.

Ruben loved watching basketball, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy. He was also an avid Colts fan.

He is survived by his mother, Sandy Slusher of Decatur; a sister, Jennifer (Roger) Hale of Decatur and 2 half-brothers, Ryan and Bryan Slusher of Findley, OH.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Clifford “Buzz” Dennis and Rodney Dennis for all their help.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, with calling 1 hour prior from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with Father David Ruppert officiating. Burial will take place in the Decatur Cemetery immediately following.
