Sally L. Johnson, 89, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Sunday evening, January 4, 2026, at Adams Woodcrest. She was born in Huntington, IN, on July 30, 1936, the daughter of the late Hersel V. and Margaret I. (Hough) Welker. On May 1, 1953, she married William S. “Bill” Johnson and after 72 years he preceded her in death on July 18, 2025.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Church, where she was in the Builder’s Sunday School Class and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She also served on the Steering Committee for Love Inc.
Sally was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Floral Chapter in Huntington and she served as a Past Worthy Matron of the Decatur Chapter.
She was a homemaker and worked as a hostess for 22 years with ARA Vending Services at GE in Decatur.
She is survived by her sons, Ricke (Ann) Johnson and Jeffrey (Sandy) Johnson both of Decatur, IN; her daughter, Judy (Jeffrey) Vincent of Decatur, IN; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Sally was also preceded in death by a brother, 3 sisters, and a great grandchild.
On Thursday, January 8, 2026, visitation will be held from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. in the Front Lobby of Adams Woodcrest Assisted Living and from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with an hour of visitation prior from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Pastor David Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Red Bird Mission.
