Stanley C. Conrad

Stanley C. “Stan” Conrad, 47, of Decatur, IN, lost his battle with esophageal cancer on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. He was born in Decatur, IN, on February 13, 1975, the son of the late Carl H. and Kathryn A. (Shaffer) Conrad.

He was the homecoming king in 1993 and graduated from Bellmont High School Class of 1996. Stan logged most of his life, working for Weaver Logging, Schmit’s Logging, and Paul Moser Logging. He suffered a stroke in 2013, which made him unable to work anymore.

He was always willing to help anyone out who needed it and once you met Stan you were a friend for life.

Stan leaves behind a brother, Greg Conrad and 2 sisters, Alice (Brian) Weil and Ada (Jerry) Steiner II all of Decatur; his pride was his nephews, Cody Conrad of Ft. Wayne, Ethan Conrad, Jerry “Bubba” Steiner III, and Kyle Lawson all of Decatur; his joy was his nieces, Hope (Nathan) Hunter, Kelsey (Justin) Weil, and Kaylie Conrad all of Decatur; 3 great nephews, Jamison Conrad of Ft. Wayne, Jaxon Hunter, and Jerry “LJ” Steiner IV both of Decatur; 2 great nieces, Lyla and Ellie Hunter; 2 aunts, Irene Grote of Decatur and Mary (David) Burns of Noblesville; 2 uncles, Richard Conrad of Decatur and Joseph Shaffer of Ft. Wayne; plus many loving and wonderful cousins.

Above all Stan loved his nieces and nephews and always enjoyed knowing what they were up to.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a great nephew, Remington Conrad; grandparents, Roy and Helen (Schroeder) Conrad, Cecil "Red" & Phyllis (Bonifas) Shaffer; uncles and aunts, Alfred Conrad, Raymond (Karin) Conrad, Ralph Grote, Martha Conrad, Donna Conrad, John “Pinky” Shaffer, Thomas Shaffer, and Daniel Shaffer.

Per Stan’s request there will be NO visitation of funeral and his family will celebrate his life.
