Suette Miller, 80, of Decatur, Indiana passed away at her residence on Thursday, October 6, 2022, surrounded by her family. Suette was born on September 16, 1942 in Decatur to the late Erman E. and Helen E. (Striker) Johnson. On April 16, 1960, Suette married Richard E. “Dick” Miller, he preceded her in death on March 31, 2009.
Suette attended Union Chapel United Methodist Church. In her earlier years, she taught Nursery school at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and was a Sunday School teacher at First United Methodist Church. She worked in the Treasurer’s office at the Courthouse in Adams County for 28 years. She was an avid quilter and loved being a grandma.
She is survived by her 4 children, Sharon (Jerry) Norman, Susan (Michael) Wilder, Richard “Loren” (Robyn) Miller and Steven Miller all of Decatur; 9 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Suette was preceded in death by a sister, Deanne Costello and a granddaughter, Emily Wilder.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 also at the funeral home with Pastor John McCullough officiating. Calling will be 1 hour prior to service from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Decatur Cemetery.
Preferred memorials may be made to A.C.C.F. Emily Wilder Scholarship Fund or Adams/Wells Crisis Shelter.
